This Week’s Savings Review 7/24

The items were all free or better than free this week. Total shelf price $51.90. Money I made back due to coupons and store promotions: $10.03. And yes my donations box is now well stocked with toothbrushes :-)

You ask-Does this mean that I took home $10.03 cash? No- it means that because of coupons I have extra money to spend in the store on other products in the form of RR or ECBs. I will either use these for other freebie deals so that I won’t be spending money out of pocket, or I’ll apply them to things I need (this week I’ll spend some to buy a couple of newspapers for all the great coupons on Sunday)

These items (plus a Dove chocolate bar) :-) were all half price or better.

nothing purchased (one of the best ways to save money!)

Household/Food
This week I had some larger expenses that don’t usually have discounts like a can of formula, allergy medicine, prescription eye drops and paint. I also spent quite a bit on meat to restock for the next few weeks (although there is no room whatsoever in our freezer) So even with some great deals, our budget still took a hit this week.

CVS: spent 3.48, saved $22.35 = 87% & have 7.99 ECBs to spend later = $ 4.51 profit
Walgreens: spent 7.25, saved 28.04 = 80% & have 15.50 in RRs to spend later = $8.25 profit
Walmart: spent 60.69, saved 8.95 = 13%
Brookshire’s: spent 13.18, saved 14.63 = 52%

Household/Food Totals : spent 84.60, saved 73.97 = 47% saved!
