There’s No Such Thing as a Great Day

Seriously- I couldn’t have had a more perfect morning. Yet it just had to be followed by a terrible afternoon and evening.  I got up almost an hour early and even though little one woke up with me, she was in a great mood and we managed to get out the door and be early.  Yes dear friends, I, for the first time in probably ever, got both kids ready and out the door completely by myself-  and managed to be early to boot! I was floating along for several hours on that accomplishment.
All too soon I come home and find another roach-on my dining table- that eludes my flip flop (oh the joys of an apartment) and deal with two tired and crying children.  While both children are napping I try to get caught up.  One issue after another pops up and before I get any housework done the swing runs out of batteries.  You know what that means.  To sum up the rest of the day: peed on, spit up on, hair pulled, yelled at, scorned by a two year old, stroller soaked in a downpour, kicked in the chest, grocery shopping with both kids half an hour past bedtime (because sales end tonight and I still hadn’t made it to the store), Turkey pulls up the internet on my non internet phone-wonder what that will cost me- and finally after sixteen hours I can finally put some fresh milk in the fridge for the baby.    I’m going to bed.  The roach I passed floating in Turkey’s potty can stay there until morning.
