Time Saver Tip # 16

The quickest way I’ve found for cleaning up a cluttered room is to dump anything that is out of place into tubs or baskets.  Sounds like more of a mess, I know.  I use two different containers- one for things that go upstairs and one for things that go downstairs.  Once I’ve “cleaned” my target area I then take the tubs/baskets and sit in the middle of the living room floor and watch TV while I sort by room.  I group things so that I can make one trip to each room and put things away quickly.  I find that I’m actually able to watch TV with this method because everything I am working on is close at hand, instead of constantly moving around a room and leaving to go put up one or two things at a time.

Or plan B- company is coming in 10 minutes so everything gets shoved into the tubs and into the closets to be sorted another day.  Smiley

  1. Sounds like something I’ve read on flylady.com before. It does work great.

  2. great idea – easy to read, hard to practice…
