What Makes You Frugal?

Is it a necessity because of finances?  Do you just love to find a great deal?  Perhaps you’re just hard wired to be frugal.  No matter the reason for our frugalness we have to remember to put it into perspective and moderation.  Taking the time to hand wash plastic baggies that you could easily buy for a penny each is probably not being very frugal.  Of course neither is buying 10 loaves of bread at $.25 each when you don’t have a use for them or the room to freeze them.  It’s easy to forget that we should be frugal with our time and resources, not just with our finances.

I came across an article yesterday that very closely mimics several thoughts I’ve had recently on the subject of frugality.  I would encourage you to take a few minutes to read about The Heart of Frugality and evaluate where you place frugality in your life.

I have had to make several adjustments to my deal shopping in order to continue writing the blog and sharing with all of you.  I was glad to come across this article because it reminds me that I need to make some changes in my efficiency at home as well.  I hope you will find The Heart of Frugality as inspiring and thought provoking as I did.

  1. I try to be frugal since we’re on a budget and want to stick by it, but still be able to afford fun things. We’ll also need a car in a few years, so that’s going to be a killer!
