Pay to Read E-Mails: Rewart Port Review

This post may contain affiliate links.

I have waited to write a RewardPort review until I had received my first reward and knew they were 100% legitimate.  Here are the ways you can earn points with them:

  • Read e-mails
  • shop through their site
  • complete offers (most free, some not)
  • take surveys
  • print and redeem coupons from their site
  • refer friends

I signed up with RewardPort in October of 2009.  I use the site exclusively as a pay to read e-mail site because:

  • I only qualified for 1 out of about 20 surveys (back when I had time for surveys), so I stopped attempting them.
  • I don’t have time any more to complete offers.
  • I get better cash back with other shopping sites and coupon printing sites

Now to the rewards.  They have good rewards. Currently I see $10 GC for Barnes and Noble, $25 GC for Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Gap, Sears, Babies R Us,  Bath & Body Works, Borders, Blockbuster, Eddie Bauer, Foot Locker,  Starbucks, Walmart, Staples, Home Depot, Lands End, Old Navy, Sephora & Sports Authority plus a few more.  There are also some $50 GCs and $100 GCs.

This a great selection, but the payout is slow to come if you are just reading e-mails like me.  It took me a year and one month to reach enough points for the $25 GC to Target.  Figuring the time that I spend with the e-mails each week compared to the rate of reward it works out to about $3.50 an hour.  Even if I compare it to a wage that has had taxes, tithe, social security and medicaid taken from it, it’s still only about $5 an hour.  It’s important to consider the value of your time investment for any rewards program.

Would I recommend this program?  yes, I use RewardPort and it does payout.

Will it take me time?  yes, more than I like to put in.  I would reading your e-mails while you watch tv so that you aren’t spending extra time for this as it is slow going.

How much will I earn in a year?  About $25 in GCs if you only read the e-mails, but read most of them.  About $175 a year if you qualify for and complete 1 survey a day in addition to the e-mails.

How quickly do you get your rewards? points are deposited into your account immediately.  once you redeem them it takes about 2 months to get your card.

If I only had time for one pay to read e-mail program would you recommend this one?  no, you will spend less time and earn more rewards with other programs that I use.

To sum it up: If you desperately need the money or have lots of extra time or multitask time, sign up for RewardPort.  It is a legitimate, solid program.  Otherwise, skip it.

I should note that they also have a money saving blog on their site.  It has a few deals that we don’t see on all the other money blogs so it might be worth checking out from time to time.

  1. This is very helpful. Will you tell about other reward programs you participate in? – or list the links to the post if you already have, I may have missed them. Thanks!

  2. Right now the only other 2 that I use consistently are MyPoints and Inbox Dollars. Both are reviewed under my “Ways to Make $$” button. I would direct link but time is short. Lots of boxes yet to pack and movers come in 2 days!!!
