If you’re new to Thrifty Texas Penny, welcome! I’m so glad to have you visit my site.  Please take a few minutes to look around all my page tabs above and my post labels on the right side bar.  I don’t want you to miss out ony any great information.  If you’re in the midsouth region of the country, be sure not to miss my East Texas Price list to help you know what prices you should be able to get items for.

I feel blessed to be able to help you save more time and money in order to help your homes run more efficiently.  For those of you that are new to couponing, don’t fret about not having lots of coupons yet.  You can always get great printable coupons from sites like  Coupons.com, Smartsource.com, Redplum.com and couponnetwork.com.  After a few weeks of buying the Sunday paper (or asking friends for the inserts from their papers) you’ll have most of the coupons that the rest of us have.

I wish that I could go with each of you to the stores to help you learn how to roll your rewards to pay pennies on the dollar for your needed items.  Since I can’t do that, I’ve started writing personal scenarios for Walgreens and CVS.  It’s sort of a hobby of mine (math puzzles) and is my gift to you.  Check out the personalized scenarios page for instructions for your own scenario.

I’m not a fan of surprises, so here’s a list of what posts you can expect throughout the week:

Mondays: $5 Dinner Plan
Tuesdays: Tips for Tuesday, including Time Savers, Household Tips, and Lessons in Money.
Wednesdays: Best Deals for Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods (our only 2 true grocery stores in Tyler)
Thursdays:  Ways to Make Money or Ways to Save Money
Friday: Best Deals for CVS and Walgreens, as well as shopping scenarios for each
Saturday: Weekly Review of Money Spent and Saved and Miscellaneous Money Made
Sunday: Any big additions to or first hand warnings regarding the CVS and Walgreens deals for the week.

I post other deals, including Walmart and Target,
as they are submitted to me or as I come across them during the week.  I
love to have readers submit deals and questions, as these are the ones that matter
most to everyone. From time to time I’ll share some pics or a story
about life with my kids.  Gives the grandparents a reason to check in every once in a while ya know 😉

Be sure to sign up for daily e-mails, the Thrifty Texas Penny facebook page, and RSS feed so you’ll never miss a great deal or tip.

Thanks again for stopping by!
