My post earlier has raised a couple more questions.
Can I use 2 coupons on a BOGO sale? yes, sometimes. (don’t you hate answers like that?) If you are purchasing 2 qualifying items (whether one is free or not) you should be able to use 2 manu Qs. It depends on your store policy, the price of the items, and the value of your Qs. If you are buying an item priced at $3.99 BOGO and you have a $2 Q, most stores will not allow you to use (2) Qs, because it would bring the total price down to -.01. Walmart would be the exception with their new coupon policy that allows overage, but the only time you’ll find a BOGO sale there is when you price match.
Can I use a $$ off Q with a BOGO Q? again yes, sometimes. If you are using them with a BOGO sale the answer is no. If it’s a regular sale and the price won’t drop below $0.00 after your Qs, most stores will allow you to do this. For me personally, this is something I don’t do. I feel like it’s double dipping from the manufacturer. Yes it is perfectly legal and most stores allow it, but it’s just not something I practice.
Be sure you print the coupon policies for the stores you frequent and
keep them in your coupon binder. If you are wanting to use 2 Qs on a
BOGO sale, know what that store’s policy says. If it isn’t specifically
mentioned you can try, but I wouldn’t press the issue because there is
nothing in print to back up your arguments.
I hope these posts on BOGOs have been helpful. I am planning to start a new series for Thursdays answering your questions about couponing and frugal living. I have a few questions that I didn’t have time to answer at our couponing class last night to get us started but will need more. Be sure to e-mail me if you have anything you’d like me to answer. I’m pretty open about how we live and shop with those that know us, so chances are you won’t ask anything too personal for me to answer.
