Walgreens Updates 5/29

I’m glad that many of you were also able to find crackerfuls at your stores.  For those of you who found the substitution signs, did they have good stock?  I’m also wondering if the RR for the substitutions has been turned on at all stores.  Has anyone tried this when there wasn’t any signage?  I’m reading on other sites that some people were even given rainchecks for the crackerfuls that stated “free”, as crazy as that is.  Please report and let us know how things went for you.

Just in case you missed my earlier update, the $5 Wags Q beeped for me and many others on the Applied Nutrition.  I’ve had reports that it was pushed through for at least 4 other people and that they received their $10 RR.  Someone said they called corporate and were told that the coupon was valid.  Hmmmm.  With so many people being told they can’t use this Q, I thought I’d call in and ask myself.  The representative I spoke with also said that the Q is valid for the Calcium.  However, she said (incorrectly) that it wouldn’t print the RR because I used a coupon.  I told her that we use coupons all the time on Free after RR products and the RRs print.  I also mentioned that their corporate policy states the use of a manu Q on a RR item will not prevent the RR from printing.  She was a bit stumped.  Since this is a Wags Q it technically doesn’t fall under the same rules, although we all know that we can use a Wags Q on a RR item successfully.  So, I’m waiting to hear back from someone at Walgreens corporate, but I imagine it will be Tuesday before I hear.  Hopefully there will be some left on the shelf once we get the official yes.  In the meantime, I’d recommend trying again if you’re going to be in the store.

I hadn’t even thought about price matching on most items, but reader Danielle reported in a comment that she price matched the kids aquafresh at Walmart.  You might try the same since I’m sure Wags is out of stock in most areas now.

Has anyone run into any other snares  besides the lack of SmartRinse, Crackerfuls, and Aquafresh across the country? Or do you have any good news to report?  We’d love to hear.
