Good morning everyone,
I’ve been dealing with an extreme case of exhaustion over the past couple of days. We are usually up until well after midnight, however last night I crashed just before 7. Getting nearly 12 hours of sleep wasn’t enough so I’m about to head back to bed so I can have enough energy to teach tonight. I haven’t been able to write my post for today and am not sure that I’ll be able to. In the meantime I wanted to share this story that a reader sent me yesterday. She is new to couponing and has been watching for deals everywhere. I haven’t verified the details on these Qs myself, so be sure to read over them if you try this deal yourself. You will be impressed with her success, especially considering that her store does not double or triple any coupons.
FYI…I think I found a good way of taking advantage
of the real big deal (RBD) at brookshire’s. Sunday, I found a tearpad of
Qs at Brookshire’s: Buy 1 Kraft BBQ sauce 18oz or larger and 2 of 5
other items (kraft salad dressing, kraft mayo, kraft miracle whip, a1
steak sauce, or countrytime lemonade or Kool-Aid 8qt or larger) and save
$2 off fresh meat. On the 18oz bbq sauces, there were some peelies for
save $2 on countrytime lemonade when you buy 2 18oz bbq sauce. I used
the Qs for the lemonade on sale for only $2 which made them free. I had a
Q for $1 off 2 kraft mayo/miracle whip which was on sale for $2.68. And
I used the Q for the meat to get the RBD. I wish I had had a few Qs for
the bbq sauce and the Suddenly Salad. But I did have some $1 off one KC
Masterpiece which was on sale for 99cents. Both days, I got the limit
of 2 RBDs to maximize my savings from my coupons. Sunday, the cost
before my card and Qs was over $70 and I only paid $24. It included
about 16 yogurts I picked up on clearance 25cents each and used 2 Qs for
50cents off 8. Tuesday, the cost before my card and Qs was $62 and I
only paid $11.21. Tuesday, I got a slightly different type of chicken
(breast fillets instead of whole) and salad dressing (used a $1 off 2 Q
for those too) instead of the mayo. I think I’m starting to get the hang
of this. The assistant manager was amazed Sunday evening that I saved
$45.49 with only 7 Qs. and Tuesday, I only used 9 Qs and saved $49.49.
For a total of about $35 I’ve gotten enough food to last the entire week
and my son has a nice stockpile of BBQ sauce to last him the whole
summer. In the 2 transactions, I ended up with 12 18-oz bottles of the
stuff. I’ve been doing my “happy
dance” for the last 3 days.

Lesson learned here: Always be watching for Peelies and Tearpad Qs to sweeten a deal.
TTP, no need to post this, I just wanted to say take care of yourself and get to feeling better soon! Perhaps you ought to look at getting your thyroid and B12 levels checked by a doc? Mine were both off kilter and I felt horrible! Anyway, very grateful for your blog! Take care, Christina
Thank you Christina! So sweet of you. I had so much work to catch up on from last night that I didn’t have time for a nap. However I’ve been laying on the couch with my computer on my lap so I’m not feeling too bad. My husband took the kids to daycare today so I think I’ll be able to get everything ready for tonight’s class before I pick them up and be able to rest while the baby naps this afternoon. I know Turkey won’t mind getting to watch some Blue’s Clues
