Next Couponing Class

What a wonderful class this was.  Although I lost my voice again, I do love teaching!  You can check back on the “my next class” tab for info on the next class.  I’m debating if another beginner’s class is needed or another class focusing on Walgreens.  Now would be the time to chime in all you local readers :-)

I’ll be teaching a beginning couponing/frugal living class on Saturday, August 6th from 2:30-4:45.  A huge thanks to Reader Courtney for securing us a location for this class in Whitehouse.

I will cover:

  • Basics of couponing
  • How to get items for free at CVS and Walgreens
  • Basics of normal, realistic stockpiling
  • Why your $1 coupon just saved you $1.39
  • How to use a price list
  • Menu planning techniques
  • Easy freezer cooking
  • Homemade convenience foods
  • Items that burn a hole in your budget and how to avoid them

The class is free, but these items would be appreciated:

  • any Qs or items you would like to trade during our break time (NOT a drawing)
  • a $1 donation to cover the cost of copies
  • an item to donate to the business that has so graciously provided us with a meeting room (roll of TP or paper towels, soap, air freshener, cleaning product etc.)

Courtney and I will provide some snacks (please bring your own drink if you want one).  We’ll have a break in the middle of the class to trade Qs and items and to visit.

Here is the sign up form:

If you’re unable to attend this class but are looking for one, TACC will be having a Q and A session on Thursday night, July 28th.  Visit the fanpage and scroll down to find the announcement.  I won’t be able to attend that meeting :-(

i live in northeast Pennsylvania and there are currently no couponing classes offered around here. i am interested in starting one, do you have any advice on how to start one? any and all help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

  2. I *just* noticed your comment anon. Somehow I missed it in my inbox-so sorry. My best suggestion would be to sit down and make a list of broad topics that you think should be covered. Then go back and list subtopics beneath each. Try to anticipate every question a beginner might ask. You’ll fill a page quickly. :-) I do know some frugal bloggers up in Penn, but not sure what part. I can ask for you if you’d like.
