Reader Isabel pointed out tonight that I had entered the IVC Q for the pantiliners wrong. It is actually $3/2 16-60 ct. Carefree pantiliners. When combined with the in ad Q to get the smallest packs for $.99 this would already create overage without the use of the manu Qs, so I did some thinking and some reading on couponing boards and through comments on other blogs tonight. (an hours worth!)
A few months back there were Glade Sense and Spray units on sale at my favorite store for $1 each! There was also a $2 IVC Q and a $3 manu Q. The IVC Q only took off $1 for each unit though, because it recognized the price in the system. Based on that info, I believe that the combination of both Wags Qs (*read my explanation later of why this is allowed) is going to bring the total down to zero. You shouldn’t need any manu Qs to get these for free.
The info I collected from several boards tonight:
1- many people are reporting that the $3/2 Carefree IVC isn’t working for the smaller packs, even though the coupon says “on Carefree”
2- many people that reported being able to combine the $3/2 Carefree IVC with manu Qs were only able to use one less manu Q than the # of carefree they were buying.
3- some people are still reporting the age old argument that these Qs say “manu Q” so you can’t use another manu Q on them.
I’ll start by debunking the myth of #3.
1st a manu Q will only take off the coupon value amount from one item. The IVC Qs take off the amount for each qualifying item in your transaction.
2nd a manu Q will have a remit address and will be remitted to to manufacturer or designated clearing house. Most Wags don’t collect these Qs because they aren’t remitted to anywhere!
3rd if I have a manager try that argument on me, I am quick to point out both of those facts that negate their argument. I also point out the wording in the Wags coupon policy that states* you can use 1 manu Q and walgreens coupon(s) per item. That S in parenthesis can’t be a mistake my friends. Walgreens corporate fully intended us to be able to use multiple Wags coupons on the same item.
Based on what other people have said about this Q, probably the safest thing to do is to first see if the $3/2 is working for the liners that are $.99 with in ad Q. If they are, then I would buy 3 and use in this order
1st -1 or 2 manu Qs-if any at all
2nd- $3/2 IVC Q
3rd- in ad Q.
You need to have $.50 extra in merchandise in your transaction if you are using only 1 $.50 Q, and $1.00 extra if you are using 2- $.50 Qs. To be safe I’d add in another $.03 just in case the double Wags Qs result in overage.
Me personally? I don’t have a single thing that I want at Wags this week and I have carefree running out my ears so I don’t think I’m going to bother going (unless I don’t see anything else that I want next week and if so I’ll spend my $5 RR on maybe Colgate and Dove.
