Stanley’s BBQ $10 for just $5

Last weekend while my parents were here for a visit, I invited my aunt from the Dallas area to come for a visit.  Seeing as we hadn’t eaten BBQ since we moved here, I asked around and found Stanley’s to be the most highly recommended, but they were closed on Sunday  :-(  Instead, we picked up BBQ from a place close to the house, hoping to avoid the excitement of 3 out of town guests combined with our two kids at nap time.  Let’s just say that while eating at home was a wise choice, our choice of BBQ was not.  Needless to say we will not make any further plans to support the nearby establishment where we paid nearly $20 for a pound and a half of pork BBQ that could hardly be called meat.

I was excited to see today’s deal for Seize the Deal is a $10 voucher for Stanley’s BBQ for $5.  I’ve already snatched my voucher up so that we can try a real BBQ place.  Why don’t we all pick them up and we can have a Thrifty Texas Penny party at Stanleys*!

*This deal is for the Tyler Stanley’s and the voucher is good until October 8th. You have until midnight on Sunday to purchase it.

If you’re not familiar with Seize the Deal, it’s a site similar to groupon.  They offer deals for local markets that are half off or better.  You purchase a voucher, print at home and must use it within a specified time frame.  There’s no cost to join, but once you sign up you’ll the first to know about the deals in your area.

Deals for other markets today: (there are 39 total markets through Seize the Deal)
El Paso, TX: $40 to Adventure Zone for $20
Lafayette, LA: $12 to Hot Food Express for $6
Oklahoma City, OK: $20 to Chelino’s for $10
Texarkana, AR: $16 to Wing Tyme for $8

I have gotten this one before and the food was really great however, I had to make four trips there before I ever caught them open. They sell out quickly so it is best to get there no later than lunch time. My favorite was the turkey breast. I would probably get it again and take it home to make sandwiches for the family.
