Tide for $1.94 at CVS 8/28 – 8/31

I’ve mentioned several times in my classes that I’m a Tide girl.  Our little family only uses 3 or 4 of the 32 load bottles in a year’s time and when I can get it for $2.50 I’m not going to worry about saving that little amount by using a different product.  I was just over at amit19 and noticed that Tide powder is included in the gas card deal for 8/28-9/3.  The deal looks like this:

Buy 1 Dawn dish soap @ .99
Buy 5 Tide powder @ 5.94 each = $29.70
subtotal: $30.69

use (4) $2/1 Tide powder from 7/17 SS (can only use 4 like coupons per shopping trip)
use (1) $.50/1 dawn from 7/31 PG
new total: $22.19
get back $10 gas card
total after gas card: $12.19
subtract $.49 for the dawn = $11.70 for 5 tide (2.34 each!)

These Qs all expire on Wednesday 8/31, so keep that in mind.  You’ll need to buy all the items in the same transaction to get the gas card so you may want to ask your store to place an order for you.
Jennifer from Frugal Texas Mom just commented on FB and let me know that you are able to buy the gas card deals in separate transactions. (There was only ever one gas card deal worth doing for me and I didn’t have enough Qs for it) So if you have a 5th coupon and use that in a separate transaction you’ll score each Tide for $1.94- woot woot!

If I do the deal and my mom does too- I’ll be set for at another 3-5 years (I currently have 2 years in my stockpile as well)  Now when the kids get to be teens and we’re using 2 or 3 times as much I may have to reconsider, but for now I’ll enjoy my Tide :-)

  1. For those of us w/o CVS, please be sure to keep posting great Tide deals, so we can stock up. Also, my P&G husband appreciates your business!

  2. I wish I found them in the ad more often girl! I tend to clip every Tide Q that comes because Target will clearance them out for some silly reason. My mom finds them clearanced a lot and also finds great sales at Kroger (which I know you don’t have either) The last time she came she brought 2 of the 25 oz bottles that were clearanced to $1.98 and she used a $1/1 Q on each, so $1.96 for 32 loads. You can tell your hubby that we appreciate their Qs every month! :-)

I was wondering how do you stretch 3 or 4 32oz bottles of Tide for the year? Do you also buy other detergent or do you add something else to the tide to make it stretch so you won’t have to use so much. Just wondering

  4. Hi Anon,
Tide really suds up (have you ever let it agitate with no clothes for a min? OMG) So I’ve found that unless the clothes are really grimy I can use just under the #1 line for a full load of laundry and that will be enough. A 32 load bottle is more like 36 – 38 loads. Since it’s just my husband and I, a 3 yr old who wears size 2 and a baby, I typically do 2 loads of laundry one week and 3 the next. That’s 130 loads a year and about 3 and a half bottles at the rate I use it. When we had 5 kids at home I would do 6 – 8 loads in a week- I’m glad I’m not footing that bill anymore even at less than $2.50 a bottle! :-)

  5. So this is for powder Tide? Do you know if you can use it in a front loading HE washer? I know there’s a little spot in there for using powdered deterg., but so far I haven’t tried it or thought about looking at the powder detergent options! Thanks!!

  6. Yes it’s for the powdered Tide CAB. Sorry-I don’t have the foggiest idea about HE washers- my machine is a used machine from the mid 80’s. Given my luck with “new” ones, I’ll probably get another very old machine when this one dies. :-)

  7. Ok, figured it didn’t hurt to ask! I’ve only had this washer a few mos. – our last washer/dryer lasted 11 years. Hoping this set lasts at least that long! Glad I found your site!

I don’t have the $2 off Tide powder q but I do have a P&G one for $1 off one tide detergent. Do you think I can still use it for the powder?

  9. Hi Anon, yes the $1 off Tide is valid on any tide detergent. There are liquid Tide bottles that are included in the sale too if you’d prefer to buy those. The powder was just a better deal because of the $2 Q.
