Homemaking Plan Week 4 of 2012

Now that I’ve mastered menu planning, I’m moving on to being better organized with my homemaking skills (yes, I use the term homemaking very lightly!)  As I sit down to write the menu for the week, I’ll also think about the tasks to accomplish for this week.  I’ll make 3 lists:

  • 1 list of less common maintenance tasks that I will also post
  • 1 list of personal tasks such as blogging chores, bills to pay, people to call, and activities for the week
  • 1 list of cleaning items that I need to accomplish for the week.

Has anyone found a homemaking plan online that works for you?  I’ve
tried Fly Lady, but it was just too much for me.  I’d love to hear about
some sites that are helpful for you.

Another fail opportunity for improvement on my schedule this week.  I ended up being so busy last week that I hardly even played computer games!  My week pretty much ate me for lunch. I only accomplished one thing on my maintenance list, and not so much on my blogging and every day task lists either.  I realized that my laundry room/mudroom has become so cluttered again that I can’t find anything, so that’s the task to address this week before all others.

This week’s maintenance chores in addition to daily functioning cleaning chores:

  1. Clean inside of stove
  2. Dust all living areas of the house
  3. Wipe down baseboards in all living areas
  4. Wipe down all door and window trim in living areas I actually accomplished chores on a Monday!
  5. Put 2 or 3 more items on Craigslist or Ebay to sell
  6. 15 minutes daily tidy after the kids go to bed

See?  Nothing too involved, just things that will help me stay on top of things at home instead of letting the week slip away from me because none of those things seem pressing to be done immediately.

What are your extra goals for this week?
