No More Card Table – We Have A New Kitchen Table!

I think most bloggers brag about having the best readers, but I have proof that I have the best readers anywhere.  A couple of weeks ago I was chatting on Facebook about cleaning blinds. It was suggested that I vacuum the blinds with an attachment. I said if I had such a thing I would, but since we still eat at a card table, I didn’t have such a vacuum. Long story short, when you have mortgages on 2 houses and only 1 income you choose the things that are important.  Most of the time it’s not things that are important.

During that chat on FB 2 different readers said they might have a table for us to use.  Tonight one very sweet reader drove out of town to pick up a spare table she had in storage and delivered it to us.  It’s a perfect fit for the space.  No longer will the kids be able to pull the table back and forth or tear the vinyl while we eat. Nor will I have to endure all the squeaking.  This is an aha! moment.  I can’t wait to eat breakfast all at the same beautifully sturdy and quiet table.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the sweet and awesome reader who blessed us by loaning us a table to use.  And thanks to the other reader who was also willing :-)

You guys are truly the best readers a gal could have!

  1. Kind of funny because I have the blind attachment to a vacuum in the basement new in the box that I never tried. I had mini blinds when I moved to the house and when we took them down to paint, we never put them back up so I never had to clean them :) It was super cheap to get at the store but I am pretty sure that I saw somewhere that it is easier to clean them with microfiber cloth when they were closed. Now that you have a nice table, you can lean over with that cloth :) Good luck!!!

    wonderful answer to prayer!

  3. Alison- It is a really nice table. I may actually be enticed to clean the blinds more than once a year if I’m leaning over it :-)

Yes S, it is. With losing the renters twice now since we bought this house I’ve come to terms with not having all the things that “normal” people have. The bottom line was our card table was more than many people have. It still bothered me every once in a while though. Many blessings upon the blesser tonight. :-)
