Simple Homemaking Plan Week 13 of 2012

As I sit down to write the menu for the week, I’m writing out my 4
weekly “to do” lists (personal tasks, blogging tasks, cleaning chores,
less common maintenance cleaning tasks).  It’s helping me to accomplish
things that easily get pushed aside otherwise, even if I don’t get
them all checked off!

I finally finished all the chores from last week-including cleaning all the blinds.  Granted I just finished this very minute (I waited on writing this post so I could say that I’d finished LOL)  I won’t be waiting so long to clean them again so that it won’t be nearly so difficult next time.  This week I’m being sure to pick easier chores!

This week’s maintenance chores in addition to daily functioning cleaning chores.

  1. Dust all light fixtures (lights on fans got dusted last week)
  2. Plant strawberries (actually strawberries that are mushy- I figure I might as well give it a try)
  3. 30 minutes cleaning out paid to read e-mails
  4. 15 minutes cleaning out coupon bins.
  5. 15 minutes daily tidy after the kids go to bed

See?  Nothing too involved, just things that will help me stay
on top of things at home instead of letting the week slip away from me
because none of those things seem pressing to be done immediately.

  1. I haven’t, but I will! I’ve checked out several homemaking plans that were overwhelming to me. My life is often unpredictable with my husband’s work schedule. Some weeks I can’t do much and others I can do a lot. Right now I’m flying by the seat of my pants but I haven’t been overwhelmed yet. :-) Thanks Rushing!

Have you ever checked out JustMommies? They have a printable cleaning calendar for each month. It separates tasks by date & by each day of the week & it has a monthly decluttering challenge. It’s great! I love it because I don’t have to sit down & think about what to clean.
