Simple Homemaking Plan Week 22 of 2012

As I sit down to write the menu for the week, I’m writing out my 4
weekly “to do” lists (personal tasks, blogging tasks, cleaning chores,
less common maintenance cleaning tasks).   It’s helping me to accomplish
things that easily get pushed aside otherwise, even if I don’t get them all checked off!

Last week I ended up sleeping a lot during the day.  Little One has been sick, and then moved unexpectedly to the toddler bed, so that’s left us with a lot of fitful nights.  This is her first full week home with no daycare so I’m not going to plan anything extra.  I think just staying on top of the regular chores and keep everyone’s needs met will be enough.  How about you?  Are your kids home from school this week too?  What changes will that bring for your family?

We found the ice maker leaking when we arrived home from visiting family, so that’s made it on the list this week :-(

This week’s maintenance chores in addition to daily functioning cleaning chores:

  • Finish refinishing toddler bed for Little One
  • Dry carpet and base boards, then reattach
  • fix water line on fridge
  • 15 minutes daily tidy after the kids go to bed

See? Nothing too involved, just tasks that will help me stay on top of things at home instead of letting the week slip away from me because none of those things seem pressing to be done immediately.
