Simple Homemaking Plan Week 35 of 2012

As I sit down to write the menu for the week, I’m writing out my 4
weekly “to do” lists (personal tasks, blogging tasks, cleaning chores,
less common maintenance cleaning tasks).   It’s helping me to accomplish
things that easily get pushed aside otherwise, even if I don’t get them
all checked off!

I didn’t complete my extra chores until yesterday, but I was pleased to find it only took me 30 mins to dust all the air vents, fan blades and light fixtures.  Why didn’t I just do it on Monday and get it over with???  I’ve been doing a lot of organizing lately so I hope to get my office whipped back into shape and lots of the kids toys set aside to sell.   But the focus of this homemaking goal list is to accomplish tasks that easily get missed.  So this week I’ll continue working my way downward in the house.

This week’s maintenance chores in addition to daily functioning cleaning chores:

  • Clean all exterior doors
  • Dust all blinds
  • 15 minutes daily tidy after the kids go to bed (I tend to do 30 mins one night and none the next, but it still works!)

See? Nothing too involved, just tasks that will help me stay on top of things at home instead of letting the week slip away from me because none of those things ever seem pressing enough to be done immediately.

What extra things are you working on this week?
