Walgreens Scenario 10/21 for 76% Savings

This post may contain affiliate links.

The deals were so pitiful last week that I didn’t write a scenario.  My Walgreens scenario from the week of 10/7 – 10/14 ended with 1000 points, so we’ll add to that this week.

Walgreens Rules in a Nutshell:
You may only do each deal once per transaction.
You cannot use the RR from one deal to pay for the same deal if you want to get another RR.
You may not use more manu Qs (including RRs) than the number of items in your transaction.
A RR cannot pay tax and it’s value will not be reduced.
When redeeming Balance Rewards points, new points will not be earned.
For a more in depth explanation of these rules, you can read my posts “How to Roll With Walgreens” and “Balance Rewards System“.

  1. Hi Penny,
I am confused on BP redemption. Two days ago I went to Walgreens and did T1. The cashier asked me if I wanted to redeem my points (I had 5,000). Since my total was $3.45 I asked her if I could redeem $3 only. she said, Yes. Then she said, Actually, you could redeem the whole amount. I told her that I was under the impression that we could only redeem whole dollars, not with change. But she reassured me it was OK. Well, after I left the store, I realized that all of my 5,000 points disappeared. I guess, we can only redeem in multiplies of 5,000 without loosing any points?? Seems like Walgreens employees have no idea what they are talking about and give bad advise to its customers.

    • You’re exactly right : many Wags employees don’t know what they’re talking about. :-) You can redeem only in $5 increments. You can always call corporate and see if they’ll issue you a credit for the 1550 points you lost due to her error. It’s such a small amount there’s a good chance they will. Or even take your receipt in and show the manager. Walgreens has a long history of not having coupon informed employees, although there are some that are really knowledgeable. Unfortunately some managers aren’t any more knowledgeable. :-( Now that I have CVS I’m in love LOL
