CVS and Walgreens Shopping Trip 11/11

My husband made it home late yesterday afternoon so I ventured out in the rain to do some shopping.

I was especially excited about the deals I got at CVS:

3 Huggies Goodnites @ 30
2 Sunkist 2 ltrs @ 1.76
2 Gallons Milk @ 6.98
3 Colgate @ 5.50
1 Cheerios @ 1.97
1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch @ 1.97
1 Gold Emblem Chips @ 2.49
subtotal:  $50.67
I used a $10/$50 CVS Q
I used 2 $2/1 Goodnites from inside our previous packages
I used 1 $1/1 Goodnites printable from huggiescom
I used 2 $.55/1 Sunkist peelies
I used 2 $.50/1 Colgate from 10/28 SS
I used $.60/1 Cheerios from bettycrocker
I used $.60/1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch from bettycrocker
I used $1/1 GE chips CVS Q
I used $17.44 on 2 gift cards from returning items that didn’t print ECBs as expected
I used $12 in ECBs
new OOP total: $2.95 including $1.02 tax

I got back $17 in ECBs:  $10 for Huggies, $2 for milk, $4 for Colgate and $1 for using my Green Bag Tag.  Plus I added $1 to my SavingStar accountThat makes my net cost for these purchases $14.39 – that’s a steal for 3 packs of goodnites!  And to top it all off I got another $10/$50 on my receipt to use for the hot Black Friday sales starting on Sunday.  I will seriously be doing a happy dance when I use that Q on all those freebies and moneymakers :-)

My next stop was Walgreens.  I didn’t have any points or RRs to redeem, but wanted to get in the game for next week’s Black Friday deals.  We use the contact solution and dressing, and the deodorants were a great price for donating.

The manager asked me if my husband was a veteran.  I said no but my Dad was.  He gave me a 15% veterans discount in honor of my Dad!  Here’s how that affected my deals:

1 Renu Sensitive solution @ 6.99  5.94
2 Dry Idea Deos @ 5.10
2 Kraft Italian Dressings @ 4 3.38
subtotal: 16.99 14.42
I used $2/1 Re-Nu Sensitive
I used $3.00 off (2) Dry Idea
I used $2/2 Dry Idea Nov IVC Q
(I forgot my $1/2 Kraft printable – boo!)
new OOP total: $7.75 including tax.

I got back 1000 points ($1 worth) for the dressing and a $5 RR for the Renu.  While I was waiting for the Renu RR that didn’t print (manager force printed it) the next customer got a $2 RR and left it there!  So I ended up getting $7 in RRs back plus $1 worth of points for a net price of $.25 moneymaker.  Score!  And now I’ve got a little RR money to play with next week for the Walgreens Black Friday sales.

I ran into Dollar Tree to pick up some birthday party invitations for Turkey’s 5th birthday and ended up buying several sets of metal build it yourself race cars and some watercolor Cars movie sheets.  I was pleased to find some hands on activities for the Cars themed party at such a reasonable price.

My last stop was Super 1 to get a turkey, some delicious navel oranges, my newspapers and some cheap cereal, along with a few other produce items.

Needless to say I was eager to get home, but not so eager to find room for everything in our already bulging cabinets, fridge and freezer.  It all fit though, miraculously!

Have you done your drugstore shopping yet this week? I love to know you came out!
