CVS Shopping Trip 11/18 Early Black Friday Sale 2012

I had planned this scenario for my CVS trip Sunday, knowing it would likely need some adjusting. I should have shopped Saturday night, but I just didn’t want to shower and change out of my jammies – a day at home sounded too good to ruin :-)

The main things I didn’t get were the South Beach Diet Bars, Nature Valley Bars and Kleenex.  I didn’t have one of the coupons for the shave gel, so I just skipped them both. A couple of items I got the last one on the shelf so my friend that I shopped with missed out. Several items were OOS by the time we left the store, but my Mom called me yesterday afternoon from her CVS and they had plenty of the items my store was out of – go figure!

Not pictured are the 10 ct. Advil and 2 Sparkle paper towels

Since I had a $10/$50 Q to use I just did one transaction.
Before coupons the total was $54.74.
I used the $10/$50 CVS Q, $.55 Ginger Ale peelie, $1/1 Starbucks Refreshers printable, $2/1 Shampoo Conditioner or Styler CVS Scanner Q, $.25/1 Charmin from 10/28 PG, $.50/1 Command Product from 11/11 SS (I couldn’t get the $1 printable to print), $1.50/1 Children’s Advil printable$1/1 Glade Warmer printable
and a $2/2 Right Guard printable.  Now there’s a hot
$3.00 off 2 Right Guard Total Defense 5 Products for an even better deal.  I also used $18 in ECBs that I already had.  My total before taxes was $17.94 ($18.88 after) and I got back just shy of $49 in ECBs.  That comes out to $11 gain for this transaction.

On Thursday I plan to use the other $10/$50 I received and roll some ECBs to get another $50 worth for free – including sodas!

  1. which cvs do you shop at? the one on south broadway, tyler, would not let us use the charmin coupon.

    • Hi Anon, I shop about half the time at the South Broadway/Shiloh Rd. store and about half the time at the 5th/Loop store. When I cut out my Charmin Q Saturday night I noticed the size restriction and wasn’t sure about it myself. The single roll on sale was a huge roll and wasn’t marked travel or trial. I decided to go ahead and use it since other sites that are also very careful with size restrictions were posting it. It didn’t beep as would typically do for a non qualifying product. I can understand why they would refuse it, but also why others accepted it. The database didn’t show restrictions and I didn’t look at my own coupon personal coupon until after the scenarios had been written or I would have noted the possible issue with it. Sorry that you had trouble. Free TP is free TP though :-)
