Basic Couponing & Frugal Living Classes May 11th, 2013

I’ve been asked to teach a couple of classes up in Mineola for a boyscout fundraiser. The classes will be on Saturday May 11th at the First United Methodist Church in Mineola.   That’s about a 30 minute drive from Tyler. Contact information for the organizer of the classes can be found below.  I’m sure they’d greatly appreciate you sharing the info with friends who might be interested in attending that live in the area.

* where to get coupons and how to use them
* how to organize coupons
* coupon stacking
* how to get items for free
* using a price list
* how to get overage
* overview of couponing at local grocery stores
* overview of couponing at local dollar stores
* overview of couponing at CVS and Walgreens
* overview of couponing at Target and Walmart
* couponing for charity
* shopping strategies
* using coupons to build up a realistic stockpile
* basic menu planningThe 11 am Frugal Living Class covers
* showing how to create and monitor a basic budget
* looking at our definition of “need” and our desire to ‘keep up with the Jones’
* discerning between being cheap/making cheap choices or purchases and being frugal/making
wise choices or purchases
* showing how to make a frugal menu plan from your stockpile and/or current grocery sale ads
* teaching ways to make your own convenience foods like: bisquick, refrigerator cookie dough,
hamburger helper mixes, flavored oatmeal packets, pudding cups, etc.
* sharing simple tips for freezer cooking/reducing your cooking load without giving in to costly
fast food or box dinners
* reducing your use of disposable items
* teaching you how to make your own laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, foaming hand
soap, and household cleaners for a fraction of the store bought price
* giving you strategies for teaching your kids about money and finance
* helping you make use of all the resources in your home to their fullest capabilities to save you
the most time and money
* showing the true value of an earned dollar and helping you understand that most times you
don’t need to earn more money, just to stretch your dollars further with the basics of frugal living
and homemaking that our grandmothers knew
* showing how a few extra dollars towards debt or savings can make a huge impact on your
finances down the road

Advance Tickets are $5 per class ($10 for both)

Tickets are also available at the door tickets for $8 per class ($16 for both)

  1. I would LOVE to come to this class, but unfortunately, my kids have events on May 11th that I can’t miss – would you consider doing another coupon and frugal living class in July????? Please!!!!! Oh Please!!!!!!

      LOL. I would love to do another one. These classes weren’t organized by me though. I was hired to teach the classes by the organizers. I teach private and public classes all over East Texas and would be happy to e-mail you my information if you’re interested. Your church might be willing to sponsor a class. :-)
