We’ve been waiting, and CVS finally has a printable coupon policy for us.

There are a few changes that may affect the way you shop at CVS:
- CVS will no longer accept competitor coupons. Sadly I’m sure this includes the $10 Target GC promotions for filling a prescription
- CVS will no longer accept expired coupons. I’m sure this will prohibit coupon friendly stores from initialing ECBs and coupons for later use if the product we are shopping for is out of stock.
- The total value of coupons may not exclude the value of the transaction. However it later states that they will reduce a coupon value, so I’m sure this will be an arguing point in cases where the final subtotal is $.99 and you want to pay with a $1 ECB.
- Similar to Walgreens, CVS is stating that they will accept one manufacturer Q and applicable CVS coupon (s) for each item. If you have a CVS Q from the reinventing beauty magazine and a CVS Q from the scanner, they should both be accepted.
Also to be noted is that there is nothing in the policy that states your coupons must be printed in color ink. The only requirements for a printable coupon are that the coupon have a barcode.
Hopefully having a policy in print will be helpful when we run into an employee that isn’t familiar with CVS policies on coupons. For easy reference you can find this policy and other coupon policies on my drop down menu.
