April 2011 Savings Review

The household budget for our family is $500 a month and includes all
groceries, household products, clothing, gifts, decorations and
newspapers.  A little on the lean side?  Perhaps, but it works for our family.
Whether your number is $300 or $1000, you should do what works for your family.

In April our house back in Arkansas got rented out again,
and you can tell that I breathed with our spending again.
I spent: $402.39
I saved: $714.46
Extra money I made: $180.47

  1. It’s not too hard to track ThisIsLA. I just throw all my receipts in a designated drawer. On Saturday afternoons I sit down at the computer to tally the damage :-) By doing it weekly, it helps me keep it in check for the whole month. Sometimes it’s 10 or 15 here and a 20 there, and I don’t realize I’m up too 100 in a week. I’d hate to do that for a month and wonder what I spent it all on. Let me know how it goes!

    Congrats!
I have been in a free spend (Gasp!) but am going to start tracking.
