Thanks and have a great weekend!
So the cashiers don’t make you feel like a bother when you split all the orders up and roll the RR into the next order? Being a former cashier, I think it would make me feel bad to make them do that, and to make everyone else behind me wait. JMO
Hi Anon, you are right that it is a bother to split orders. I encourage my readers to NOT DO more than 2 transactions per store per day. I also encourage them to check out at the cosmetics counter if they have a large transaction. We try to keep everyone in mind.
I don’t think 2 transactions is unreasonable.
I think it would be bad customer service to make a customer “feel like a bother”, as you put it. The cashier’s job is to assist within the frameworks of store policy. If there were an issue with a customer wanting to do an unreasonable amount of transactions, I think the responsibility to discuss this with the customer would like with the manager.
I’m fairly new to this and really love your step-by-step scenarios. However, I feel like I’ll never be able to do them accurately (and save the amount you have listed) because I’m not starting with the RR you start with. For example, this week I only start with $1 RR. How do I get caught up? Thanks for any input.
You just have to jump in where you are. You would pay $6.64 for T1 instead of $.64, but over all you would still save 81%. Next week you would be starting with a $2 and a $3. I do write personalized scenarios. You can tell me the specific items that you want to buy and the Qs you have, and I’ll put them into a scenario for you. There is a tab with the instructions for submitting that to me at the top of my page. Here is a direct link too. http://www.thriftytexaspenny.com/p/personalized-scenarios.html
