$5 Dinners Week of 4/18 Average Cost of $4.27

My goal is to provide dinner for my
family for an average of $5 except on special
occasions. We don’t have to eat beans and rice to
accomplish this goal!
We typically only cook a main dish 4 or 5 times a week. Each
main dish cooked will serve 4-6, and the
leftovers will be for easy dinners on the weekend, or to freeze
for another week. This cuts down on cleaning,
cooking, and meal planning- saving us lots of time!

Recently a friend was laughing with me over how we won’t be able to get by on 6
eggs and sausage links when my kids get to be tweens like hers.  I
realized that my breakfast meal doesn’t always serve 4-6 like I post my
other meals.  I want this menu plan to be beneficial to all families, so
I’ll try to do better about being sure the main dish will serve at
least 4 and stay under the $5 average mark.

Last week we never got around to the “meaffins” suggested
by Super Saving Sisters, mainly because I never bought ground beef for them.  So, it’s made it to my list again this week.  I’ll try a new dish that you guys suggested again next week after we see how the meaffins turn out.
