What a neat program! Here’s a clip from the Walk With Walgreens website to explain it:
“Walk with Walgreens is a program that rewards you simply for
walking. It will help you track your progress, have fun and achieve some
goals along the way.
Our goal is simple: to get more of us walking more steps, in more
places than ever before. Why? Because walking is the most fundamental
exercise there is. And making it an important part of your daily
lifestyle can have a major impact on your health, happiness and even the
environment.
Just set a goal, then log your daily steps here. In no time at all,
you’ll be receiving rewards and coupons from our partners for doing what
you already do. Next, get inspired by others’ walks, photos, videos—and
then share your own.”
Coupons and Prizes from:
Dasani®, Sprite Zero®, Degree®, Lipton®, Pond’s®, Vaseline®, Caress®,
Bayer®, Aleve®, Citracal®, One a Day®, Omron®, Planters®, Neutrogena®,
Wrigley Extra® , Famous Footwear®, and Lifetime Fitness®
(this list is taken from the Walk with Walgreens site)
They also will be giving away 4 random $100 prizes each week! I think this is pretty good encouragement to do something I should already be doing anyway.
You can check out the program here: http://walk.walgreens.com/ If it prompts you for an e-mail address, just click the X in the upper right corner and it will allow you to explore the site for more info. Just as a warning. They did ask to connect my e-mail account, similar to what Facebook asks. The only information I was required to give was my e-mail, first name, date of birth, and zip code. Which is basically all my e-mail has anyway
Thanks to TammiLee Tips for the tip!

I will be checking this out right now! That’s awesome! Now we will be rewarded for walking to school. 😉
