My goal is to provide dinner for my
family for an average of $5 except on special
occasions. We don’t have to eat beans and rice to
accomplish this goal! We typically only cook a main dish 4 or 5 times a week. Each
main dish cooked will serve 4-6, and the
leftovers will be for easy dinners on the weekend, or to freeze
for another week. This cuts down on cleaning,
cooking, and meal planning- saving us lots of time!
We made the last minute decision to go out to eat using a small GC last night. That sure made it hard to stay under $5 this week. We also needed to eat another casserole from the swap to free up space for more casseroles coming next week. I did my best and will have to be satisfied with $5.82. My averages this month $4.91, $5.06, $3.67, and $5.82, so at least I average under $5 for the month.
