I started with $9 in RRs and ended with $5 in RRs. My OOP was $1.53 for $31.10 in sale priced merchandise.
I am still looking to find out how you are getting RR’s after paying with RR’s? I like your blog but I can tell you that will not happen in my Walgreens and according to thier policy you cannot pay with an RR and get back an RR. So how are you doing it???

Dear Rockporter, It is perfectly fine to pay with a RR from a different deal and still receive a RR back. I encourage you to buy the Halls this week using the $.75 Q. You’ll pay just the $.25 OOP. Then take this RR and use it to pay for your Crest along with a $.25 highlighter or knee highs. You will need the highlighter or knee highs as a filler because you will be paying with a RR and a $1 Crest Q (2 Qs requires 2 items). Your OOP for this 2nd transaction will be about $.75. This will be minimal OOP for you to experiment with. Because Halls and Crest are different companies the computer shouldn’t give you any problems – i.e. beep, and it should still produce your $1.50 RR for Crest. If you are still denied your RR, then I think it is time for you to call Corporate Walgreens and inform them that your store is not following the corporate coupon policy found at http://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp?_requestid=37856 I’d be glad to help you work out other scenarios or to help you figure out what might have gone wrong if the computer won’t take a RR.
Another thought- Rockporter are you in one of the test areas where you get rewards points on a card instead of RRs?
Thanks for the reply, no we are not in a test area and it would be great if you could me help me out on this. I and a few others shop for the troop boxes we send to Afghanistan and I would love to know how to get more for a whole lot less out of pocket to get those items, for myself also. I spend way more at Walgreens than I spend at CVS and would like as little as possible OOP especially since my husband lost his fulltime job and is working part time, money is tighter now. Thanks for your help. I can send you some photos of my shops if you would like??
please do send me an e-mail (link on my right sidebar) and let me know how it went with buying just the halls and then applying that RR to the Crest with a filler. I have more OOP than many just because I buy my newspapers at Walgreens @ $3 each. It is nice to use them as fillers though!
