This Week’s Dinners 8/16

My goal is to provide dinner for my family (2 adults and one toddler eating) for an average of $5 except on special occasions. We don’t have to eat beans and rice to accomplish this goal! We typically only cook a main dish 5 or 6 times a week, so each main dish cooked will be for 4-6 servings, and there will be leftover servings for lunches, dinners on the weekend, or to freeze for another week. This cuts down on cleaning, cooking, and meal planning- saving us lots of time!

  1. Omaga! How can you be so organized. I don’t think dinner until 4:30 on my ride home from work.

  2. haha! I do this so I’m not thinking dinner at 4:30 with 2 little ones screaming to eat!
Otherwise I might just skip dinner all together. :-)

  3. Anonymous says:

in your special pork chop dinner, where were you able to buy butter for $.48 a pound (I am assuming when you say a stick of butter @ .12 you are talking about a 4 oz. stick of butter)?

  4. I only buy stick butter (preferably Blue Bonnet) when it is on sale for .50 a box. I will buy multiple boxes and freeze them. So technically it’s .125 per stick :-)
