This coming week I’ll be making a little bit of money at Walgreens and taking home a few products for free. Here’s what I’ll do:
buy Colgate Total Advanced 5.8 oz for $3.49 and receive a $3.49 RR.
I will use the $1.00 off coupon from the SS insert on 7/11. OOP: 2.49
Profit of $1.00, plus a free toothpaste.
buy 1- Pilot G2 Pen 2pk for $1.19.
I’ll use this printable coupon for $1/1 Pilot Pens (use this coupon first)
AND the 1/1 pilot pens coupon from the July coupon booklet found by the ads
Profit of .81 plus 2 free pens.
If I can find them in stock, I’ll also
buy: 4 REACH Crystal Clean Toothbrushes for 1.57 each
I’ll use 2 BOGO coupons from the 12/31/10 RP to reduce my total to 3.14.
I’ll then get back a $4 RR for purchasing 4 products (this is a monthly deal good until 7/24) Profit of .86 plus 4 free toothbrushes.
Total OOP: 4.82. RR received back: 7.49 Total Profit of 2.67. I also plan to reduce my OOP by 2.00 by using a RR that is about to expire.
Want to step it up a notch? Buy your colgate and pens on one transaction, then take the colgate RR and use it to buy your toothbrushes along with about .50 worth of other products (there are candy bars on sale next week). This would make your OOP around $1.90 and you would still take home a $4 RR and all those products. Don’t like to use colgate or reach? Hang on to them to donate during the next drive at your church or school and you won’t have to go pay full price for donations then.
If you plan to go and get these deals yourself-keep in mind that RR are only valid for 2 weeks. If you have a hard time remembering to spend them, I suggest taking all of your register rewards and applying them to another purchase on the same visit. You will need to make the purchases above on one transaction (your RRs will print at the end of the transaction) and then make your other purchases and pay with you RRs. Otherwise wait until the next week and use them to reduce your OOP at that time. Also remember that at Walgreens you can only use 1 manufacturer Q or RR per item. So, if you want to spend both RRs you receive at the same time, you have to have 2 things to purchase without using other coupons. Milk is usually a pretty good item to buy, or pictures if you have some to get developed.
