to do list

As I sit down to write the menu for the week, I’m writing out my 4
weekly “to do” lists (personal tasks, blogging tasks, cleaning chores,
less common maintenance cleaning tasks).   It’s helping me to accomplish
things that easily get pushed aside otherwise, even if I don’t get
them all checked off!

I wasn’t as successful with my to do lists last week, but the house is still managing to stay in shape and nearing readiness for an influx of family/friends this weekend.
It feel apart Sunday/Monday when Little One and I were sick, but it’s getting back to normal! I’m still chugging along rather than just repeat last week’s list.

This week’s maintenance chores in addition to daily functioning cleaning chores:

  • Move any Thanksgiving leftovers that remain in the fridge to the freezer (be sure to date and label)
  • Clean and reorganize freezer (you may have done this 2 weeks ago when we did the fridge)
  • Clean exterior of fridge/freezer
  • Empty, clean, and reorganize flatware drawer.

Last week’s list that I’m still working on:

  • Clean stovetop (thanks Mom!) and oven – I can’t let my mother or mother-in-law see it like it is! (they did see it – oh my!)
  • Wipe down all cabinet exteriors and handles, playing extra attention around sink and trash can.
  • Organize cabinet with baking supplies
  • 15 minutes daily tidy after the kids go to bed (I tend to do 30 mins one night and none the next, but it still works!)

See? Nothing too involved, just tasks that will help me stay on top of things at home instead of letting the week slip away from me because none of those things ever seem pressing enough to be done immediately.

What extra things are you working on this week?

  1. Yeah…I haven’t done much either and I’m hosting TDay on Saturday. But I have the added benefit of a teenager that’s home for TDay break this week. I love free/cheap labor! 😀
