Some of these sale prices only go through Monday, so keep that in mind when planning your shopping this week. I have two scenarios for you that both start with an $8 RR. One buying exclusively food items (the products that might be on your list), and one that uses a moneymaker (something not on your list that you could donate) to stretch your grocery dollars. This is an effective way to grocery shop when there are good grocery prices at Walgreens or CVS.
Scenario 1 Totals: $29.69 at sale prices for $1.69 OOP and have $4 in RRs remaining.
Scenario 2 Totals: $23.19 at sale prices for $1.09 OOP, still have $2 RR remaining
Update: I found
about 10 boxes of Crackerfuls at my favorite store this morning at 8:02
(they open at 8), however all but one were in a customer’s cart! I
simply smiled and waited, as this is the store in town that customers to
1 or 2 transactions, depending on the manager in duty. Sure enough,
within about a minute the manager was restocking the crackerfuls and
several illy coffee to boot! The manager confirmed that they wouldn’t be
getting any more crackerfuls, and that the smart rinse would not be in
stock either. I also found one lone Aquafresh kids. By the time I left
the store, there were only 2 boxes of crackerfuls left on the shelf.
The
Applied Nutrition Q beeped and they wouldn’t override it because it was
producing a RR. I wasn’t in an arguing mood, so I left it. The coupon
clearly states “applied nutrition supplements” so the calcium should
qualify. Hopefully your manager will agree. I don’t plan on going to
another Wags this week so I won’t be able to try and report back to you
on that.

I just read on WildforWags that most Walgreens will not have the Crackerfuls in stock. They are substituting Wheat Thins, Triscuits, and regular Ritz, I believe. So you might want to note that in your scenarios…
Thank you Megan, another reader had told me of the insufficent stock earlier. I had updated all my scenarios with a warning at the top, but this one didn’t get changed to red print. I just fixed that, so people shouldn’t miss it.
Hi — I found your blog on Thursday, during the amazon hunt and have found lots of good stuff on it. I’m actually from Wisconsin (lived in Texas for awhile though) but still find info I can use, even though we have lots of different stores up here that you in Texas. I liked the Walgreens post about the groceries. I’m trying to use my RR for more groceries now that I have enough toothpaste, shampoo, etc. Just thought I would let you know that I really appreciate the ideas that you put out there!
Thank you Kari,
It means a lot that you took the time to comment. Hopefully you’re able to find good stock at your store for things you’re wanting 😉
