Preschool Busy Activities – Jumbo Coloring Books

We’ve had a fairly busy schedule the past couple of weeks and have been doing a lot of yard work, so there haven’t been too many times that a preschool busy activity was needed.  Little Turkey does a lot of puzzles, so that’s usually been the activity of choice for busy moments lately.  He works 48 pc. puzzles too quickly, so when I need to keep him busy for more than 5 minutes I’ll give him a 78-100 pc. puzzle  These require me to check in on him and help him figure out which part of the puzzle to work on next, but that’s all part of the learning process.  He will actually stay focused on any activity better when I check on him frequently even if I just rustle his hair.

Another easy no prep needed activity is jumbo coloring books.  These are 14×18 and can be found at the  Dollar Tree.  They have about 15 pages and come with a sheet of stickers.  I let him pick out a page to color and a sticker to go on it and he feels like it’s really a special activity and not “just coloring”.  How many times do kids get papers this big???  I learned from this guest post to keep the crayons in an old wipes tub and it works fabulously to keep them contained! As you can see, I picked up several jumbo coloring books to last Little Turkey and Little One a good long time :-)

If you want to see some of the activities that I’ve posted about so far this year, here is a link to all my preschool activities.   I’ve got several more to share with you all too!
