How Could I Forget a Diaper?????
DH got our son up this morning. I was in the bedroom getting the baby’s milk when he comes in with a smirk on his face and says “Were you in a hurry when you got [DS] ready for bed last night?” Cringing, it dawned on me instantly what he meant. I had put him to bed with his underwear on! Evidently the entire bed, him and his stuffed animals were soaked. It is now all piled up in his {Read More}

Moneymaker Ronzoni Pasta at Brookshire’s
The Ronzoni SmartTaste Pasta is on sale this month at Brookshire’s for $.89. There were $1/1 Qs this spring and summer in the Parents and Better Homes & Gardens magazines. I’m not sure which ones as I’ve already used my Qs and read the magazines, but I think they were in April through July. They expire in October. The Qs are taking off the whole $1 for a $.11 moneymaker.
Tutorials Coming for New Thrifty Shoppers
One thing I got to go do with Nana was take her shopping with coupons. She’s talked about learning to use coupons for years and recently has been following my blog. So, I clipped a few Qs from her recent 8/29 inserts and we went to Walmart. We talked about how she would probably “make 3 cents” because she was going to use a $1 Q for a $.97 item. Gotta love those coupons that say “on any size”. We {Read More}
Our Labor Day Weekend Adventures
We went to visit my Mother-in-law this weekend. DH had worked a lot of over time so we were able to leave on Friday, which made for a nice long visit. She lives about 4 and a half hours away and DS was very excited. He woke up Friday morning saying “Are we going to go see Nana today?” “yes, we’re going to go after we eat lunch” “Good, I need to go see Nana’s pots!” Nana is one of {Read More}
This Week’s Dinners 9/6
My goal is to provide dinner for my family (2 adults and one toddler eating) for an average of $5 except on special occasions. We don’t have to eat beans and rice to accomplish this goal! We typically only cook a main dish 4 or 5 times a week, so each main dish cooked will be for 4-6 servings, and there will be leftover servings for lunches, dinners on the weekend, or to freeze for another week. This cuts down {Read More}
What’s the Best Cookware?
When we got married 9 years ago we received a set of really nice nonstick cookware. I had never even heard of nonstick before this. Well, over time they seem to get harder and harder to clean. Hmmm, wonder why? My mother’s cookware is still super easy to clean and you know what? It’s cast iron! A few weeks back Pary Moppins posted a series about the great qualities of cast iron. She even took a super rusty skillet and {Read More}
