July 8, 2012 Best School Supply Prices

This post may contain affiliate links.

This summer I’m going to approach the school supply sales differently.  I’ve created a spreadsheet with my “match it or beat it” price for each item.  Each week I’ll enter the prices from the sale ads for the 7 national stores in the East Texas area.  You’ll be able to look at each item you’re needing to buy and see which store has the best price. You can also see which store has the best sale prices for that week {Read More}

Recipes that Don’t Require Any Heat – Dishing It Up Recipe Hop

I think it’s hot just about everywhere in the U.S. by now.  Fortunately it’s about 5 degrees cooler so far this summer in our part of Texas.  Regardless it’s still pretty miserable to be outside or to be cooking anything with the stove or oven inside.  So this month the Dishing It Up gals have decided to feature dishes that don’t require any heat to prepare.   If you have a recipe we’d love to have you link it up, {Read More}

How to Make Chargrilled Chicken Salad

This month’s theme for the Dishing It Up recipe hop is recipes that don’t require any heat.  I’m going to fudge a little bit for this week.  Somewhere along the line the chicken for this salad does need to be grilled, but when I make a salad I pull it out of the freezer and let it defrost on a plate so I’m not using any heat to make it for that meal.  My husband is sweet enough to grill {Read More}

Becoming Debt Free June Budget Totals

This post may contain affiliate links.

Last month I set a new monthly goal for spending at $400 to include all groceries, health & beauty products, decorations, gifts, clothes, entertainment home improvements, etc.  Basically anything that isn’t a billed item.  The only exclusions are gasoline, childcare while I’m working and home repairs. This was a 20% or more cut to our budget.  My goal of course is to pay off both our homes quicker. In July we spent $400.51 of the $400.  It looked like we {Read More}
