Bead Stringing – Preschool Busy Activities

I didn’t post any of our preschool busy activities last week.  Not because we didn’t do any, but because they didn’t work very well.  I tried several things that were either too advanced or too easy to hold his attention.  He’s already working 100 pc puzzles at barely age 4, but has deficiencies in other areas, so sometimes it’s a guessing game what skills will work.  The most disastrous project this week was beans.  I drew him a picture of {Read More}

Button Caterpillar – Preschool Busy Activity

I saw this idea first on The Activity Mom  but I liked the idea of round felt pieces to make a caterpillar instead of a snake.  I used 20 felt circles for our caterpillar. Today I pulled out a bag of loose buttons that I’ve been collecting for years.  I told little Turkey to sort them by color and then by the number of holes.  Then he could string them on some floral wire by the number of holes on the buttons.  I hot glued a 2 holed button to the bottom of one wire and a 4 holed button to the bottom of another.  I guess I gave him too many instructions /things {Read More}

Lately I’ve been obsessed with the idea of making educational busy bags for little Turkey now that he is 4 years old.  I’ve read about them before on Money Saving Mom and wish that I’d made some up when he was 2.  While I’m still pondering the most cost effective and time efficient way to make said bags, I’m striving to be more purposeful with giving him activities to do so I can get some things done around the house.  {Read More}
