If you haven’t made it over to Target lately, I would plan a trip soon. The store in Tyler has been at 75% off on all Christmas items for a couple of days. There were several things left in large quantities that I’m hoping to be able to pick up when they hit 90% off. (probably late this coming week) Also January always means great toy clearance at Target. My store has toys anywhere from 15% off to 75% off. {Read More}

Yes, You Can Paint Over Wallpaper
We (meaning Hubby) gave this a try today. Little One’s room at our new house had been painted a dark brown over wallpaper. Really it was a very nice job and it was hard to detect the wallpaper. We of course wanted a much lighter color for her walls. Turns out if you use water based paint the walls will bubble horribly. Lesson learned: if you don’t use an oil based paint you can save some time and money by {Read More}
November 2010 Review
The household budget for our family is $400 a month and includes all groceries, household products, clothing, gifts, decorations and newspapers. This makes 2 months in a row that I have blown the budget. I know November is one of our biggest shopping months due to Christmas, but that’s not a good excuse for a frugal person like me. I also am pretty sure that I overspent in December as well. Looks like I need to do my first reevaluation {Read More}
